JAMES DARRYL TURNER August 12, 1924 - January 17, 2015 James Darryl Turner was born in Saltillo, MS in 1924. After serving honorably in the US Navy, he moved to Riverside to attend La Sierra University & met his first wife, Rita. They married in 1951 and had 7 children. He retired after a 25-year career with the US Postal Service & became a successful entrepreneur. In the early 1990s, Jim moved back to Saltillo. He is survived by 2nd wife, Dora; his children, Stephanie Turner (San Clemente); Judith & Udo Singer (Los Alamitos); Christopher & Annette Turner (Riverside); Candice & Allen Baron (Riverside); James Darryl II & Rumiko Turner (Yokohama, Japan); Monica Turner (Sacramento); David & Melissa Turner (Herald); friend & former wife, Rita Turner (Riverside); grandchildren (Alexis, Crystal, Robert, Marci, Chad, Jeremy); great grandchildren (Braden, Avery, McKenna, Chasity, Riley, Jonathan, Savannah, Charlie, Alex, Emma). He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur David & Pearl Lindsey Turner; his brothers & sisters (Carmen, Jewel, Bertie, Arthur Grey, Noel, William); step-son, Sonny. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend who never met a stranger. He loved reading, history, politics, traveling, fishing, jokes & gardening. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to Sanctuary House Hospice, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38802.
