James Edward "Jim" Caves Obituary
JAMES EDWARD CAVES (Jim) (3/17/44-12/19/12) Born to his father Edward Houston Caves and mother Lucy Pearl Bristow Caves in Tulsa, OK. Jim is survived by his 7 siblings: Joyce Brown, Thomas Caves, Mary Snyder, Sue McCormic, Mel Caves, Minnie Lansdale, and John Caves. After graduating from Porterville High, Porterville, CA in 1961, Jim moved to southern California and received a double BA in English and psychology from CSLB. Absent his final thesis, he completed all studies for Masters Degree of Psychology. Jim met his life love, Sandra Jean Anderson, while they both worked at Lucky's supermarket and they married September 14, 1969. Jim and Sandy raised three daughters, Darla Letitia Gill, Jody Pearl Alway and Kelly Jean Waugh. Jim retired from the County of Riverside as Senior Personnel Analyst after 25 years of service. As a loving grandfather, Jim bestowed care, wisdom and knowledge of the ways of God to his six grandchildren, Michael Todd McGee Jr., Sophia Marie Caves, Cheyenne Jacqueline Waugh, Jeremiah James Caves, Julia Ann Davis and Joseph Bradley Gill. Jim's love of people and Godly care has yielded him many other "children and grandchildren" in his life including but not limited to Karen, Kim, Tracy and many others who call him Daddy, Papa, and friend. Jim purposed his life to serve the heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ and to impute His love in all that he did. Known as a leader and commissioned as an Elder, Jim served in the ministry with the true heart of a Pastor. Jim served in many capacities of ministry including personal and marriage counseling, marriage ministries and shared his wisdom of both physical and spiritual health. Having now made his eternal home in the presence of his Lord and Savior, he will be missed greatly by many. Until we meet again, Jim, rejoice in your reward and in the arms of your Lord. Jim's Celebration of Life Service and potluck will be held at Christian Life Center in Riverside, CA Sunday, Dec. 30th at 2pm.
