JAMES FRANK CURLEY HAMILTON "PONCHO" James Frank Curley Hamilton "Poncho" was born on September 26, 1955 and made his journey home on October 25, 2012. James was born in Hemet, California and grew up on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation. He attended Hamilton School, Hemet Jr. & High Schools. James was an accomplished guitarist and played in many bands. He also was a talented artist and held many different jobs to name a few, Surveyor, Slot Tech in Las Vegas, Biohazard clean-up. He traveled many states throughout his life mainly as a musician. James always called Cahuilla Reservation home and was a fluent Mountain Cahuilla speaker. We suffer a great Loss... James is survived by his mother Cahuilla Elder Anne Hamilton; brothers Joseph D. Hamilton, Manuel W. Hamilton, both from Ramona Reservation; sister Rose Ann Hamilton from Cahuilla Reservation; his children Teena Archuleta Collins, James Frank Curley Hamilton III, Thomas J. Hamilton, Ashlyn Hamilton, Sierra Hamilton, Raven Hamilton, all from Cahuilla Reservation; his lifelong partner Patti Powers; older brothers Frankie Hamilton Jr., Rudy Hamilton; older sister Barbara Hamilton; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who love and miss you dearly.. A traditional wake will be held on November 9, 2012, Friday, @ 6:00 pm at Our Lady Of the Snow on Cahuilla Reservation, followed by burial at Cahuilla Cemetery at 10:00 am on Saturday.
