JANET M. JOHNSON 11/29/1925 - 4/24/2013 Janet was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to Samuel N. and Elsie C. Miller. She attended a one room schoolhouse through the eighth grade and graduated from Huntingdon High School. She and her sister, Ricky, moved west to Santa Monica, California, in the early 1950's. Janet worked as a secretary at General Electric and UCLA. She met her future husband, Glenn E. Johnson, at a dance at the Aragon Ballroom. They were married on November 7, 1953, at Trinity Baptist Church in Santa Monica. They began their married life in Santa Monica, then moved to La Mirada, and finally, in 1968, settled in Corona, California. Janet was very active in many civic organizations including: Buena Park Lionesses, Women's Improvement Club, Red Hats Society, Republican Women, California Republican Association (CRA), Navy League, Corona Heritage Park, Croquet Club, Model A Club, Packard Club, Ford Retractable Club, Bible Study Fellowship, and Joy Bible Study. She and Glenn were also very generous to many other civic causes. Janet attended First Baptist (Buena Park), Riverside Baptist Temple, Faith Baptist (Corona), Pacific Coast Church (San Clemente) and finally, Crossroads Church in Corona. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Dallas Miller, Dorothy (Dot) Miller, Beulah (Boo Boo) Rose, and Rachel (Ricky) Nagel. She is survived by her husband Glenn; four children: Sandra Rowe (Rick), Linda Rither (Ross), Kirk Johnson (Dolly), Eric Johnson; four grandchildren: Jessica Scautling (Kevin), Becky Cass (Drew), Cody Johnson, and Morgan Rither; three great-grandchildren: Kassie Scautling, Kolten Scautling, and Derick Cass; one sister-in-law Louise Miller. Janet was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all. There will be a celebration of Janet's life at Crossroads Church Corona, 2331 Kellogg Ave., Corona, CA 92881 at 10:00am on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
