Jean Barbara Duff Obituary
JEAN BARBARA KAEPPEL DUFF Age 89, passed away on December 24, 2015, Christmas Eve, with her three children and longtime friend Santo Arena by her side. Barbara was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Martin John Kaeppel and Edith (Braunschweig) Kaeppel on October 7, 1926. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John (Jack) Martin Kaeppel, and former husband, Robert F Duff, Jr. Barbara is survived by three children, Deborah Duff Simmons (Joe) of Abingdon, VA; Robert F. Duff III (Billie) of Bristol, TN; Thomas E. Duff (Debi) of Lake Havasu City, AZ and longtime friend Santo Arena of Laguna, CA. She will also be missed by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. There are many friends, coworkers and students that will miss her also. We wonder what to do with Barbara in their lives Barbara retired from Rubidoux High School, where she taught for 30 years. She also taught at San Bernardino Valley College and most recently she worked with several ESL organizations in the San Bernardino and Riverside areas. Barbara was an amazing adventurer. She traveled to many places all over the world. She was an Independent woman but loved surrounding herself with interesting people. She was open-minded and accepting of everyone. She loved nature and especially her animals. She had many pets through the years. Everyone always said when they died they would like to come back as one of her pets. She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, but most of all, teaching. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley.
