Jean Ishbel Vausbinder Obituary
IN LOVING MEMORY OF JEAN ISHBEL VAUSBINDER who went to be with her Lord Tuesday, February 4, 2014. She passed away in the hospital peacefully and without pain. Jeannie was born July 15, 1936 in Allahabad, India, of British parents. She is survived by her husband Dean Vausbinder; three children, Julie Lane, Jan Roy, and Jill Young; two living brothers, Aubrey Howie, Bruce Howie, and one sister Heather Gumbiner; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. At age 13 Jeannie moved with her parents back to England. She moved to Toronto, Canada, where she later met and married Dean, "the love of her life" as she often referred to him. They moved to Wisconsin, re-located to Yorba Linda, California, and finally settled in at The Colony at California Oaks in Murrieta, California. Jeannie started out as a hairdresser in England. In Canada, she was a Senior Buyer for Kimberly Clark. Jeannie became a US citizen after moving to California but still retained strong ties to England. She was an active member of The Daughters of the British Empire, a non-profit that supports retirement homes for people of all nationalities. Her sense of humor, positive outlook and mischievous nature enhanced her friendships and involvement in many social gatherings. Jeannie loved to travel and loved gourmet cooking - particularly Indian food. She also loved helping people, but, her greatest love was for her family. Jeannie was loved by many and leaves dear friends and family all around the globe. Dean and Jeannie are members of the Murrieta United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm March 29 at The Colony at California Oaks. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: The United Methodist Church at 24652 Adams Ave., P.O. Box 602, Murrieta, California 92562, or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
