Jeannie Lee (Moxon) Madariaga Obituary
JEANNIE LEE MADARIAGA (MOXON) passed away on May 15, 2015 at her home in San Diego, Ca. She was 76. Jeannie was born in Inglewood, Ca. on May 21, 1938 to Willis and Maude Moxon. She lived in the Riverside, Ca. area most of her life. After graduating from Poly High School, Jeannie attended Riverside City College and graduated with an AA degree prior to marrying the love of her life, Don Madariaga, on December 6, 1958. Together they raised three children. Jeannie was a loving and supportive mother and wife who took great pride in taking care of her family. When she wasn't busy taking care of her family, she volunteered in the community, played the piano and loved to tap dance. After the children moved away, Jeannie and Don sold the family airport, bought a motor home and traveled around the country with their good friends from high school. Eventually, they settled in San Diego, Ca. to be close to their children and grandchildren. They spent the winters in Palm Springs enjoying the warm weather and the company of many, lifelong friends. Jeannie will be missed by many. Preceded in death by her son Robert, she is survived by her husband Don; daughter Cindy Karen; son Scott (Lynda) Madariaga; and 3 grandchildren, Brittany, Paige and Antonio and many close friends and relatives. A celebration of her life, with family and friends, will be held in October 2015, in Palm Springs. Date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Jeannie's favorite charity, UCSD Cancer Research @ www.kesarilab.ucsd.edu
