Jo Ann Waugh Fisher Obituary
JO ANN WAUGH FISHER JoAnn fought a courageous battle with leukemia and finally gave in to rest. She passed away on May 1, 2013 at Hemet, CA. JoAnn was born on January 2, 1945 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Geneva and LaVern "Rip" Waugh. She was raised in a rural setting, growing up in many eastern farm communities. JoAnn welcomed two brothers Ron and Roy Waugh. She graduated from the Bellingham Nursing School with her RN degree, and she loved her job as a pediatric nurse. JoAnn met and married Ted Fisher in Baltimore, Maryland and they welcomed twin girls, Christie and Katie in 1974. JoAnn, Ted and the girls moved west to Hemet, CA in 1978. JoAnn had been very active in the community. She was involved in soccer, her daughter's school activities and was the owner of McCowan's Dress Shop for many years. JoAnn was a founding member of Hemet High School Grad Night; former president of VIP Tot's and head duck for the fundraising DUCK RACE for VIP Tots . JoAnn was extremely talented as she created beautiful quilts and needlepoint. She enjoyed reading and her favorite pastime was her four beautiful granddaughters. They cooked, they learned sewing techniques, they watched soccer and they played and enjoyed their time together. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ted Fisher; her daughter Christie; son-in-law Bryan Addis; granddaughters Brooklyn, Chloe and Cameron; son Michael; daughter-in-law Deborah Hurly and granddaughter Isabella. JoAnn leaves behind her father LaVern "Rip" Waugh; her stepmother Joan; her brother Roy and Patti Waugh; sister-in-law Dee Waugh, her extended family and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Geneva, her daughter Katie and her brother Ron. JoAnn embraced all she met, she was loved by all, and the memories will be forever cherished by all who knew her. JoAnn will remain forever in our hearts, she will be truly missed. A celebration of JoAnn's life will be held at Holy Sprit Catholic Church, 26340 Soboba, Hemet at 11 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2013. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to VIP Tot's, 41915 Acacia Ave, Hemet, CA 92544. Arrangements handled by Berry, Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary
