Joan Lorraine Day Obituary
JOAN LORRAINE DAY
Joan Lorraine Day passed away peacefully in her home in Norco on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, surrounded by family and her beloved dogs. She lost her seven-year battle with breast cancer, but not without a fight! Joan was born in Los Angeles in 1955, to Joe and Carol Kittinger. After Carol died at a young age, her "second mother" Norma Jean helped raise Joan and brother Glenn Kittinger in Westminster. Joan accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age, and later was a proud alumnus of Biola University. While working at Disneyland, she met many lifelong friends and Alan Day. Alan and Joan married in 1980, and were blessed with sons Brian and Michael. Joan attended every one of their sports games, and was adopted as "surrogate Mom" by their friends and team-mates at Riverside Christian School. Her big joy in life was watching as Brian and Michael grew into strong men, and found strong women to love, Julia and Brittni. She managed the office for CMW Nutrition for years, and retired in 2016 to travel the world. Joan was a passionate, caring woman who was a second mother to many, a best friend to most, and beloved by everybody she met. She was a generous soul who had a genuine love to help and give to others. She enjoyed traveling (especially cruises), watching sports (especially the Anaheim Ducks and NASCAR), and playing cards with her family and friends. Instead of flowers Joan requested donations to her favorite charity, the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center in Riverside, California. Friends and family will Celebrate her Life on Sunday, September 10th at 5:00pm at the Farm in Norco, California. Just like Joan's bright and warm personality, she requested colorful attire for this event, so don't wear black. Joan will be missed by so many, she was a truly unique soul.
