Joe Edward Key Obituary
JOE EDWARD KEY of Riverside, CA, passed away on February 19, 2015. He was born in Tennessee. After graduation from Everett High School, he turned his life over to the Supreme Being and was baptized by Dr. Arthur Sheldon at the First Methodist Church in Maryville, TN. Subsequently, he was drafter into the service and served 2½ years in the U.S. Navy. He was aboard the LST133 ship when it passed over German magnetic mines while crossing the English Channel towards Normandy. The explosion from the magnetic mines blew off the stern on the LST 133 ship. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal; the American Asiatic, European, Navy occupation Service, and Navy Commendation Ribbons. He earned 3 battle stars: Okinawa, Asia and Europe. In 1956 he moved his wife and children to the Corona area. He worked in the construction arena as a welder and sheet metal worker for 30 years. He is survived by his respective family, and his wife's respective family. Private funeral services are pending, and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in memory of Joe Edward Key to .
