JOHN OLIVER ICENOGLE Age 97, died January 1st, 2013 at his home in Winchester California. He was born October 26th, 1915 on a farm in Cumberland County near Toledo, IL and grew up in southern Illinois, where he married Evelyn Louise Parkhurst. The couple then moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he became a machinist's apprentice. Around 1941 he moved to California to "see the mountains" and work for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA. As machinists were essential for the war effort, he was exempted from the draft. He opened Icenogle Machine in 1956 in Chatsworth, CA. In 1967 he moved his business to Winchester, CA where he worked until he retired at age 70. John was a member of the Hemet First Assembly of God Church for 45 years, serving as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. John had an ardent faith in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Evelyn and their six children; four sons, Wendell Icenogle of Winchester, CA, Harmon (wife Ayako) Icenogle of Auburn, CA, Gareth (wife Vida) Icenogle of New Jersey, and Milton (wife Peggy) Icenogle of New Mexico; two daughters, Marcia (husband Stacy) Naasz of Winchester, CA and Shawn German of Hemet, CA; three brothers, Thomas Icenogle of Colorado, Jesse Icenogle of Illinois, Arthur Icenogle of Coarsegold CA; two sisters, Ruth Treadgold of Washington and Adele Cunningham of Oklahoma; also, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The graveside service will be held on January 14th, 2013 at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. A memorial will be held on February 2, 2013 at his home in Winchester.
