Joyce Browning Obituary
JOYCE BROWNING Joyce passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in Riverside, California. She was born Joyce Kuhlenkamp on January 18, 1926 in her beloved Memphis, Tennessee, where she grew up and lived with loving parents until 1950 when she married the love-of-her-life, Charles "Charlie" Browning. After their wedding, they drove in Charlie's convertible to California where Joyce enjoyed her life with her husband until his death in 2006. Having graduated from professional clerical school, Joyce worked many years in responsible positions in city governments, Western Union, and insurance businesses in areas where her husband worked in management and marketing for Sunkist and Citrus Packing Houses in different cities throughout California. Together they designed and built several homes that Joyce enjoyed decorating beautifully. She was so talented that friends and family told her she should have been a professional interior decorator. After retiring, Joyce created beautiful leaded and stained glass windows, lamps and home decor that continue to enhance many homes in Southern California. Joyce and Charlie had no children, but their homes always included adored animals, including their Yorkshire Terriers they so loved. When she was feeling well, Joyce could light up a room with her wide beautiful smile. She had a clever and warm sense of humor, and an infectious (sometimes wicked) laugh that so many enjoyed. She was bright and always maintained her gracious "Tennessee southern charm". We know she will be content to be with her "Charlie" who she loved so deeply. Joyce is survived by her sister-in-law, Dora May Sim of Fullerton; her niece, Maureen File of Riverside, and niece Elizabeth Davis of Bullard, Texas. No services are planned. Donations should be given to the ASPCA, an organization that Joyce supported for many years.
