JUANITA OFF was a native of southern California, born March 1, 1914 in Garden Grove, to the parents of Minnie and W.W. Dungan, who were very active in the development of Garden Grove. She graduated from GGH, class of 1932. Working at See's candy store in Santa Ana when WWII was declared, she then worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. After the war, she worked in a bank in Garden Grove, where she met and married John Off in 1948. He bought Century Automotive in Garden Grove and they maintained this business until they retired and moved to Lake Elsinore in 1978. They traveled extensively, including a motorhome trip to Alaska, trip to Europe, touring Mexico, New Zealand trip, and rafting on the Colorado River. Juanita was a Methodist all of her life. She was a Lay Speaker in her church for 20 years and active in the Untiled Methodist women's groups. Her hobbies included crocheting toys and making beautiful stitcheries and working plastic canvas into decorations. She also enjoyed performing at her Sunwest residence. She was married 57 years. Upon her husband's death, she moved to Hemet where she resided until her death on Nov. 29, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Jane Pabitzky and son-in-law Neal of Menifee and grandson John of Hemet. There will be no services.
