Judy Katherine Evans Obituary
JUDY KATHERINE EVANS (nee Nance) passed peacefully in the early morning of May 9, 2016 after a short illness. Born to William Jacob Nanz and Dorothy Lang Nanz in Queens, New York, Judy lived there until her late teens or early adulthood when she and her mother moved to California. She was predeceased by her older sister Carol and her husband, Loren. Judy is survived by her brother Bill Nance, his wife Marty, Judy's son Gerald (Jay) Meiner, her grandson Scott, his wife Loron and two great grandchildren. Beginning her work life in the early 1960's as an office worker, Judy studied and worked her way to the position of title examiner at Commonwealth Title Insurance Co. She worked there until her retirement. Her passion, however, was buying and selling antiques, especially collecting royal family memorabilia which prompted her to travel to England to find and bring back treasures. Visiting swap meets and yard sales were favorite pass times where she found some of her best items. Eventually she earned her appraiser's license. Always seeking adventure, Judy traveled the world-Europe, South America, the Baltic Sea, and the Mediterranean. Her last travel adventure was to the Galapagos Islands. Celebration of Judy's life will take place Thursday, May 26 at 11 :00 a.m. at the Fairmont Park Boathouse.
