Karen Sue Hanes-DeLille Obituary
KAREN SUE HANES-DELILLE passed away on November 12, 2014 in Riverside, California. Karen was born in Fort Smith Arkansas and moved to Colton, Ca with her mother and two sisters in 1957. Karen graduated from Colton High School 1971 and started working at the San Bernardino County Public Works Agency in 1973. Karen left the County in 1984 to start a career as an independent fee appraiser. In July, 1996, Karen returned to the County of San Bernardino working in the Title Transfer Department for the County Assessor. She was quickly promoted to a Residential Appraiser I and at the time of her retirement was a Commercial Appraiser III. Karen married Dave DeLille, the love of her life, on April 1, 1989 at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside, CA. They loved to play racket ball, tennis, and golf together and were long time members at Canyon Crest Country Club and Andulka Tennis Park. Together they traveled all over the world, but they especially loved being near the beach. They also enjoyed cooking, dancing, taking long walks, and entertaining family and friends at home. Karen and Dave recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Maui. In February, 1993, Karen and Dave bought a home in Orange Crest Hills where they lived until her death. Karen died at home with Dave holding her hands telling her how much he loved her on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Karen is survived by her husband Dave DeLille; mother Myrtle Hanes and sister Yvonne Costello, both live in Texas. A Celebration of Karen DeLille's life is being planned after the holidays for family and friends.
