Kathleen D. Anderson Obituary
KATHLEEN D. ANDERSON June 13, 1942 - November 29, 2012 Kathy was born to Earl and Frances Gnuse on June 13, 1942 near St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in and around St. Louis with her family, with her grandfather George having a great impact on her life. She attended Central Missouri State College at Warrenburg, MO where she met a new Lieutenant from the nearby Air Force Base. She married Ken just after her graduation in 1965. They were married for forty-seven years. During this time she moved to five different bases which meant five different churches. Kathy was active in those churches as well as in many Officers' Wives Clubs. All the while she supported her husband's career and raised three children. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force, the family moved to Riverside, CA in 1983. She remained active in church projects and with several fraternal organizations but her family always took priority. Kathy was taken from us to be with God after a long struggle with kidney disease complicated at the end with liver cancer. She left behind her dear friend and husband Ken; brother Rich; sisters Debbie and Gina; sons Ken (Leysia) and Kevin (May); daughter Kristin (David); grandchildren Anthony, Maxwell, Lilja, Miles Lily, and Gray; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her. Kathy was a wonderful wife and mother. A truly loving soul who took care of her family and had a deep love for all children. She was in charge of every kids program at her church and made sure that the kids in the community had a safe, fun place to enjoy Halloween. She was a role model not only for her family but also for the many young people who congregated at her house. She was an amazing woman whose overriding desire was to see others succeed. Viewing will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 891 Blaine St., Riverside, CA on Saturday, Dec. 15 @ 11:00AM with funeral service following at noon. Interment will be Monday, Dec. 17 at Riverside National Cemetery at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Riverside, CA. She loved others more than self.
