Keith E. Lund

1927 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
KEITH E. LUND Keith E. Lund passed away May 8, 2015 due to complications following a stroke. Keith was born Dec. 16, 1927 in South Gate, California. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Barbara Lund. Additionally Keith has two sons, Garrett and Dennis; four grandchildren: Patricia, Richard, Emerson and Tyler; and four great grandchildren: Ayden, Stori, Philip and the newest Levi, born April 4, 2015. Keith served in WWII, enlisting immediately after his 17th birthday. He served on the aircraft carriers USS Boxer and USS Hancock. In joining the Navy he followed the footsteps of his brothers Robert and Glenn. Their names are memorialized at the George S. Patton Museum in Chiriaco Summit, California. Also joining his great Uncles in honor of their service is his grandson Emerson, who served on the USS Lincoln during the Iraq War. In his retirement from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Dad has enjoyed a long and active life. In fact he was retired longer from the DWP then he worked for them. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Keith lived in Lakewood, California for 30 years where he served as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Sea Scout leader, for a combined total of over twenty years. As the Sea Scout Skipper of the SSS Volunteer Keith enjoyed many cruises to Catalina, the Channel Islands and Mexico. He was also a licensed small craft captain and member of the Power Squadron. In his retirement Keith enjoyed travels with two different travel clubs: The Rockin' Chariots and Tracks to Adventure. He and his wife Barbara enjoyed trips in their RV to Alaska, Canada, Mexico and to all states in the continental US. Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all his friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday May 16th at 'the Village' retirement community in Hemet, California.
