Kenneth Beiter Obituary
KENNETH BEITER Kenneth passed away at home, Friday, December 28, 2012, four days short of his 85th birthday. Kenneth was born on January 1, 1928, out in the country near Longton, Kansas to parents John and May Beiter. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed the farm life. During his formative years Ken went hunting, picnicking, and fishing often with his father, two brothers, and sister. On February 25, 1950, in Independence, Kansas. Kenneth was married to Jeanette Darlene Taylor and they remained happily married for over 61 years until Jeanette's passing on June 21, 2011. Jeanette became a welcome member of the Beiter clan right away and the years were filled with family get-togethers and frequent trips to the farm. Kenneth and his siblings were loving and generous children making sure that Grandma and Grandpa Beiter were never wanting for company or comfort. Kenneth continued to practice this generosity for his entire life, giving not only of his money but also his time, especially to the elderly. Kenneth and Jeanette had two sons; Kenneth R. Beiter and Stephen W. Beiter. Family vacations were split between camping with the boys and driving to California. Finally in 1963 the four of them moved from Wichita, Kansas to Los Alamitos, California. Kenneth and Jeanette lived in several Orange County cities. All totaled, during their marriage, they moved 27 times, and in 1999 they moved to Temecula. Kenneth started his occupation as an electrician at an early age taking training at a technical school in Chicago. He then worked for the Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) for 15 years. He was a true Wichita Lineman. After moving to California, Kenneth hired on with the Southern California Edison Company and retired after 20 years. In retirement Ken and Jeanette were always on the go. Eating out at the local restaurants regularly has been a tradition of Ken's for his whole life. He was particularly fond of the waitresses at Richie's and Appleby's in Temecula. Kenneth seemed happiest when he was traveling. Whether they were motor homing or cruising they always had family along. Most of their trips were made with Kenneth's' brothers, Don and Jack, and their wives', Laura and Margaret. Vacations to Lake Tahoe were a favorite! When Jeanette passed away in June 2011, his son, Ken, and daughter-in-law, Susan, moved in with dad to take care of him and Pixie, his dog and best friend. As his needs increased, caregivers were hired, and he was given full time loving compassionate care for the last 5 months of his life by Rayma Bennett and Maria Algeria. Kenneth is survived by Kenneth Russell Beiter, his oldest son; Stephen Wayne Beiter, his youngest son; Susan Loyd Beiter, his daughter-in-law, and all of her family; eleven grandchildren; Kristen Stez, Michael Beiter, Jason Beiter, Jordan Beiter, Jillian Beiter, Justin Beiter, Caroline Blevins, Mary-Beth Hernandez, Stamie Beiter, Nicole Beiter, and Elisa Beiter; and nine great grandchildren; Maxine Lynn, his sister; Jack and Margaret Beiter, his brother and sister-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; his special caregivers; Rayma Bennett and Maria Alegria; and Pixie, his Pomeranian dog! Kenneth was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Jeanette Darlene Beiter; his mother and father, May and Jack Beiter; his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Laura Beiter; his brother-in-law, Smokey Lynn; Aunt Ruth; Uncle Joe and Aunt Georgia; and Gay. Chapel services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 3rd, at Evans-Brown Mortuaries, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, Calif. 92585. Graveside services will follow at the Temecula Public Cemetery, 41911 C St. , Temecula, Calif. 92592. The reception is to follow with a meal at Mimi's Café, in Temecula.
