Kenneth Robert "Ken" Lease Sr. Obituary
KENNETH "KEN" ROBERT LEASE, SR. Kenneth "Ken" Robert Lease, Sr., resident of San Jacinto, California, passed on July 9, 2013 at age 73. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on August 14, 1939 to the late Kenneth Wilson Lease and Louis L. Lease. He attended Middletown High School and graduated from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Business. He was married to Linda Crawford Lease and had two children, Debra Lease Stafford and Kenneth Robert Lease, Jr. He was an executive in the insurance industry for many years and earned the CPCU professional credential. Ken enjoyed the rigors of sailing on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia and on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. He played "pick-up" basketball and was a drummer for many years in pop, rock and jazz bands. Ken retired to California, living first in Temecula before settling in San Jacinto. He worked part-time for the Riverside County school system and retired in 2009. He loved the California weather and lifestyle and was an avid motorcyclist, taking weeklong trips to explore CA. His enjoyment of drumming was developed as a member of his high school marching band and continued through his retirement years. He performed as drummer in several bands primarily in the Riverside and San Bernardino County areas. Ken was particularly passionate about playing and experiencing jazz music. His unique sense of humor will be missed. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Ministries in Hemet, CA and greatly appreciated the fellowship and musical opportunities there. Ken is survived by a daughter, Debra Lease Stafford and her husband of Severna Park, MD; two grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Stafford, and a son, Kenneth Robert Lease, Jr., of Edgewood, MD. His final resting place will be in his childhood hometown of Middletown, PA.
