KENTON V. GOODHUE (KEN) 1928-2014 Ken passed away on January 21, 2014 in Oroville, CA. Born March 3, 1928 to Vern and Bessie Goodhue in Riverside, CA. He was Parts Manger for Rubioux Motors, then later becoming an Officer in the CA Highway Patrol for 31 years, from 1957 to retirement in 1988. He was presented the Peace Officer of the Year Award and the CHP Division Commendation. He attended Riverside schools and graduated in 1975 from Chico State University with a BA in Public Administration. He served in the U.S.Army in 1947-1948. Ken was gifted with a kind and gentle personality with a strong sense of duty to his community. He was a member of: Masonic Temple Lodge, Elks Lodge, Oroville Docents Association, International Police Officers Association, the 25th Infantry Division and the MacKenzie's Raiders. He enjoyed off- road jeeping with the Ophir Gophir Jeep Club, Telluride, Colorado Jeep Club, also motorcycle touring with friends. Ken was versed in electronics, building computers , also a scale collector. Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Marie Haight Goodhue of Riverside and later they moved to Oroville. He is survived by 2 sons; Gregory Kenton Goodhue of San Jose, CA and Michael Clinton Goodhue of Riverside, CA and his families. Ken also survived by his second wife, Patricia Epperly of Oroville, CA and her daughters and a son and their families. To honor Ken a Farewell Service was held February 8, 2014 at the Foothill Community Church where he and Pat attended church. His cremation will be placed to rest at the National Cemetery near Chico, CA.
