Kimberly Kay Daley Obituary
Kimberly Kay Dodson Daley (née Charlston), age 57, died at her home on January, 29, 2018, at 2:48 PST surrounded by her family who loved her immensely.
Kimberly was the treasured first- born child to Gwendolyn Kay (née Snider) and Leon Joseph Charlston on September 14, 1960, in Houston, Texas. Her adolescent years were lived happily in the small, rural town of Alvin, Texas. She graduated from Alvin High School in 1978 with several accomplishments including being a member of the National Honor Society, French Club, volleyball team, choir and marching band. Kim followed in her mother's shadow as a skilled baton twirler throughout her marching band years. After graduating AHS, Kim continued to pursue her academics at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. It was here she met and married Thomas C. Alex, and their treasured first-born son, Thomas Reed Alex, was born on May 7, 1980. Kimberly and her husband, John Thomas Dodson (deceased) welcomed their son, Michael Aaron Dodson on August 29, 1982.
Kimberly is survived by her loving and forever devoted father, Leon Joseph Charlston, of League City, TX; her husband, Brad L. Daley and his children, Dallas and Brad Lee Daley of Menifee, CA; Michael Aaron Dodson who currently is serving the troops in Afghanistan; and her 1st husband, Thomas C. Alex and their child Thomas Reed Alex, of Hemet, CA; her sister, Tracy Charlston-Weaver of Highlands Ranch, CO, and her brother, Gregory Scott Charlston of San Antonio, TX.
Kimberly's happiness was enhanced by the small angels in her life including her grandchildren, Dylan Quinones and Jordyn and Luke Alex of Hemet, CA, Tandis Dodson of Fort Huachuca, Az; nephews Joseph Mason Weaver, Landon Scott Weaver and Corbin Wilson Weaver of Highlands Ranch, CO, and her special little treasure Maddix Concepcion of Menifee, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gwendolyn Kay Charlston of League City, TX, and husband John T. Dodson of Menifee, CA.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Scott Miller and honoring Kimberly's free spirit and zest for life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 4:00 PM PST at Evans Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA. Condolences can be sent to [email protected] The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valleys and Ms. Marie Jones (Kim's new friend towards the end) for the excellent caring and compassionate service showed to Kim at the end of her life.
