Laurie A. Castro Obituary
Laurie was born in Lakewood, Ca July 22 1967 and passed away in Riverside February 21, 2017.
For 30 years she was a dedicated employee working in the financial industry. Laurie was an avid athlete having played multiple sports, especially softball. Her life revolved around sports so much that she and her husband created their own family team with their children; he as the coach and she as their biggest cheerleader. They traveled state to state watching their sporting events, she was easy to pick out by listening for the loudest yell. A die hard Dodger fan and UCLA fan by marriage, she trained her children on recognizing Dodger Blue and how to do the 8-clap. She truly enjoyed the company of her many friends and family members while everyone stopped to hear her stories. Known as the life of the party, Laurie was everybody's kind of person. There wasn't a stranger she didn't make her friend. She was one of the rare ones, so effortlessly herself, and the world loved her for it.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father Laurel (Red). She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Michael; her two daughters Lauren and Veronica as well her son Andrew; her mother Sharon, sister Tammy, brother Ed, many aunts and uncles as well as nieces and nephews she adored.
Her viewing will be 9:30-11am, March 2 at Acheson & Graham Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, Ca 92504. Services will follow at 11am with burial at Olivewood Cemetery, 3300 Central Ave, Riverside, Ca 92506.
