1923 - 2017 Obituary Condolences

Walter Lee Colvin born May 7,1923 in Corona, CA,passed away quietly at his home in Riverside, CA on January 24, 2017. He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 44 years. He attended Corona High School prior to serving in the army in Europe during World War II. He also served in the Korean Conflict and in peacetime Japan and Germany. He then worked as a sheriff's deputy for Riverside County, followed by employment at Sage's Stores and Sears, finally returning to county employment. He worked for the court as a release clerk in Riverside County Jail until his retirement in 1983.
He is survived by his son Jim Colvin of Riverside; daughters Lani Emary and Nancy Mayfield of Oregon; son Sean Beghtol of Washington; daughter Jamie Cosenza of North Carolina and son Brian Colvin of Riverside. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
A Celebration of his Life including a lunch buffet will be held at 12:00 p.m., February 21 at the home of family prior to a Memorial Service at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:30p.m. where all are invited.
