Leslie Buus Obituary
Oct. 12, 1942 - Dec. 15, 2018 Leslie Buus was born in Sioux Falls, S.D. He definitely had the will to live, the love of life, the love of people and the caring to give back and help everyone. He owned DeAnza Muffler, which his father started in the 1950's, until 2009. Two other shops were owned by him, one in Norco, CA and one in Lake Havasu, AZ. Sponsoring softball teams and race cars was one way he connected to people. The Rickshaw Car Club was a "brotherhood" he truly enjoyed. Doing community work combined with his love of antique cars was something he shared with this wonderful group. Throughout the years he participated in bowling, sand railing at Glamis, camping, golfing, traveling around the world, and being a member of the Riverside Elks and Lake Havasu Eagles. His old love of surfing resulted in his owning a second home in Newport, OR where he could enjoy life on the beach. The last 12 years of his life was spent battling various diseases: Leukemia, Stroke, Heart Disease and Skin Cancer. It was the Merkel Cell Skin Cancer that finally got the best of him. He passed at his new home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He is survived by his wife and partner of 30 years, Dawn, children Shelly Allen, Brenda Buus, Colette Lay and Kenn Darling, grandchildren Jacob, Veda, Mathew, Brennan and McKenna, and great grandson, Zzyzx. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Riverside Elks Lodge on January 26th at 2:00 p.m. Friends, please come share food, drinks and memories.
