Lewis Frazier Jacobsen, 90, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter at his side on May 23, 2017 at Riverside Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marylin; his daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen and Brian Wickes, of San Antonio, Texas, and grandchildren Cameron, Camille and Nicolette. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Redmond, of Culver City, and many nieces and nephews. His older brother, Edward, predeceased him. Lewis was born June 22, 1926, in Redlands, California, to Ruth and Arthur D. Jacobsen. He graduated from Redlands High School in 1944, where he was student body president. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He attended UCLA, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He graduated from Stanford University School of Law in 1953, where he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Stanford Law Review. He joined the Riverside County Counsel's office in 1954, where he served three years, then was a partner with Swarner & Fitzgerald for more than 50 years. He enjoyed the mountains, beach, gardening, traveling, studying history and, most of all, his family.
