Lorenzo Ruiz Obituary
LORENZO RUIZ Lorenzo Ruiz of La Sierra, CA, born in Laraos, Lima, Peru on September 25, 1920, rested in the Lord on October 8, 2013. He was the son of the late Felipe G. and the late Margarita Ruiz (Lermo). He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Lorenzo was married to Esther, his loving wife of 68 years. He is survived by his 3 children: son and daughter-in-law, Hugo and Kathy Ruiz; daughter and son-in-law, Myrtha and Daniel Urrutia; daughter and son-in-law, Nancie and Terry Lawson. He greatly loved his seven grandchildren and eleven great-grand-children. He is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters living in Peru and in the United States. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His love for the Lord led him to a lifetime of directing both choral and orchestral sacred music, at La Sierra Seventh-Day Adventist Spanish Church and other churches throughout southern California. He directed Handel's Messiah for many years and enjoyed singing with several men's choirs. His family mourns his passing but rejoices in the knowledge that he loved God and went to sleep with the full assurance of Christ's soon return. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary. Services will be held at the La Sierra Spanish SDA Church, on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 3 pm. Interment will take place on Monday the 21st, 1 pm at Olivewood Memorial Park, 3300 Central Ave, Riverside, CA.
