Lou Ulrich Obituary
Born in Frizell, KS August 26, 1928. Died July 11, 2017 in Riverside, CA. Lou graduated from Blair Business College in Colorado Springs and went on to a career as an Administrative Assistant for General Electric in St. Louis. It was there that she met and married her husband of 48 years, Melvin. In 1963, Mel and Lou came to Riverside and founded several businesses in the Brockton Arcade - Riverside Stamp & Coin, Riverside Antiques, Riverside Prospecting, and Riverside Collectibles. Lou was Mel's office manager by day and Carolyn's homework/ performing arts manager by night. A life-long devoted Catholic, Lou sang in the St. Thomas Choir for 42 years and volunteered in her daughter's many activities. Lou was also an avid Bridge player and Word Search enthusiast! She was on the board of the Riverside Art Alliance for 20+ years and both Mel and Lou enjoyed volunteering with the Riverside Symphony Guild. While journeying through cancer in 2016-2017, Lou made over 1,000 rosaries for Our Lady of Sorrows Rosary Group and Destiny Hospice. Lou was pre-deceased by her husband Mel and siblings Marie, Jesse, and Tony. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn; her siblings Joe, Rebecca, Rachel, and Helen, and all their families. We are deeply grateful to Destiny Hospice for making Lou's final journey a peaceful one.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Chapel at Air Force Village West followed by interment at Riverside National Cemetery.
