Louise Scheets Obituary
Louise Scheets passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2017. Born Wilma Louise Wright on November 13, 1925 in Coshocton, Ohio, she left her small hometown for Washington, D.C. after high school to work as a secretary under J. Edgar Hoover. In 1945 she met and married the love of her life, David Scheets.
Her family, which now included three young children, moved to Corona, CA from Silver Spring, Maryland in 1957. Here Louise made many life long friends. In addition to being a homemaker, she mentored high school girls who modeled for a local clothing store (Vasels), did some modeling herself and wrote a society column for the local newspaper.
When Dave transferred to Point Mugu in 1971, the family settled in Camarillo. For several years Louise enjoyed running an antique shop in Ventura with her good friend (also from Corona) Franca McDaniel. Louise used her decorating talents to make all of her homes both beautiful and welcoming. She herself would light up a room with her warmth and style, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Louise, who was preceded in death by David, is survived by sons Steve (Dawna) and Rick (Betsey), and daughter Jan. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Sunday November 5, 2017 at 2 pm. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2304 Antonio Avenue in Camarillo.
