Madonna Jeanne Hoffman Obituary
MADONNA JEANNE HOFFMAN passed away in Eagle, ID on March 29, 2014. Madonna was born on July 18, 1924 in Fort Dodge, IA to Thomas & Mabelle Coughlon. Madonna led a rich and varied life. After graduating from high-school, she worked at a number of jobs including the B-29 bomber plant in Omaha, Nebraska. After the war Madonna was a United flight attendant based in Chicago. In 1947, Madonna married Wylie W. Hoffman and together they raised three children, Matthew, Thaddeus and Elizabeth. Madonna partnered with Wylie in his U.S. Air Force career holding down the home front and organizing family relocations to various locations around the world. Madonna approached life with intelligence and compassion. Her love of reading contributed to her wonderful ability to recall information and she was the family "go to" person to answer questions about history. When not caring for her family, Madonna pursued her "career" in volunteerism which led to her tireless work as a hospice volunteer, senior advocate and supporter of programs for the blind. Madonna leaves behind a large and loving fan base of friends and family, including son Thaddeus (Theresa) Hoffman; daughter Elizabeth (Joel) Zellers; daughter-in-law Sonja Hoffman; grandkids Gregory (Taryn) Hoffman, Jared Hoffman, Jonathan Hoffman and Wylie Zellers and two great grandkids Kellan & Claire. She was an inspiration as a woman, mother, wife, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wylie, son Matthew, sister Colleen and brother Edmund. In lieu of flowers the family asks for any memorials to be sent in Madonna's memory to Catholic Relief Services at http://crs.org/
