Mom was born on 2-16-1917 to Howard and Flossa Ferris in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio with a Bachelors degree in Science. A proud Riverside resident for 69 years, she was a teacher for over 20 years, mostly at Harrison Elementary in Riverside, CA. Manette enjoyed traveling, especially with Bruce, and her six children and many grandchildren. Her six children always felt her support and involvement with their many activities, including church choir and youth groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H and more. She took care of many friends, often driving them to church, to the store, and to concerts everywhere, until just a few years ago. She was pre-deceased by her husband, C. Bruce Tomlinson (if you played a stringed instrument in Riverside, he might have been your teacher); her brothers Afton Ferris of Ohio and Dr. Chalmer Ferris of San Luis Obispo CA, and many other relatives. Manette is survived by her son, Dennis Tomlinson of Escondido, CA, his wife Susan, and their children Carl (Karli), Stuart, Jenna, and Chad; her daughter Charlotte Tomlinson of Fresno CA, partner Norma Rabino, and her children Evan Perry (Stella) of Brooklyn, NY and their son Brandon, and Justin Perry (Kinzi) of Fresno, CA and their children Adyson and baby-to-be; her son Craig Tomlinson of Dinuba, CA, his wife Tamyra, and their son Wyatt; her son Brian Tomlinson of Riverside, CA, his wife Susan, and their children Chalmer, Brad, and Leslie; her daughter Lois Tomlinson of Riverside, CA, and her son Brian Siemens (Amy); and her son Glenn Tomlinson of Riverside, CA; and many other relatives and friends. The family wants to say thank you to Home Instead Senior Care, especially Beth, Trish, and Joanna, for their wonderful care of our mother for the last 3 years.
