MARCELINO A. PALACIOS

Age 89, passed away on July 4, 2018 at home on the Morongo Indian Reservation. He was born on July 17, 1928 and had been a lifelong resident of Banning, CA graduating from Banning High School. He was a landscaper, drove truck and heavy equipment, and could repair or fix anything. He served in the U.S. Army, Corporal, Military Police and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Indian Mission. He was a number 1 Dad-Grandpa-"Ta-ta". He was a kind man who helped others. He had many friends and loved his dog Penny.
Marcelino is survived by his wife Roselee Palacios of Morongo Indian Reservation; daughters Shawna Mongiovi of Morongo Ind. Res., Yvonne Diaz of Morongo Ind. Res., CA and Sally Steckstor of Las Vegas, NV; sons Anthony Martin of Morongo Ind. Res., Rudy Palacios of Banning, CA; and Michael Palacios of Banning CA; sisters Angie Carrillo of Fresno, CA and Andrea Gonzales of Banning, CA; brother John Palacios of Banning; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces, nephews, god- children and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Sylvestre Palacios; mother Ysabel Palacios; sons Ernest Palacios and Anthony Trujillo and granddaughter Tammy Steckstor, all of Banning.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, 4-7pm with Rosary at 7pm, both at Morongo Community Center, Morongo Indian Reservation, 13000 Malki Rd., Banning. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018, 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Indian Mission, 11231 Mission Rd., Banning, CA. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
