Marcia J. Gables Obituary
MARCIA J. GABLES, age 76, born in Rochester, PA on 7/7/1938 to parents John and Betty McDade, passed away at Riverside Community Hospital on February 24, 2015. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Victor Gables; their loving children, Christopher Gables and Kimberly Berg; and their much beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Archer Gables and Emily Anne Gables. Marcia was the third child of her parents. The seven siblings are Dawna Rae Jules, John Dana McDade, Judy Ann McDade and Keith McDade (all deceased) and still surviving are Dian Jane Miller, AR, Joni Lynn Kinsey, Corona, CA and Gregory Wayne Kinsey, Anza, CA. Upon high school graduation she moved to Chicago for her first secretarial job with a Great Lake shipping company. In 1956 she moved to Redondo Beach, CA where she became a secretary for Thermac. Soon thereafter Thermac relocated to Corona, CA and Marcia followed with increased responsibilities and recognition. She met her future husband in 1959, an attorney in Corona, Victor Gables. Victor opened his own office in January 1, 1961. They married on 12/31/62 and Marcia left Thermac and started work as his legal secretary in 1963 and he considered her the best secretary he ever had. She worked for Victor continuously until her retirement in 2000 for health reasons. Marcia lived her personal and family life as she did her work, with great zest and joy, great energy and caring for all. Her heart was huge, her skills excellent. Her family, friends, neighbors and all who knew her loved her for her good common sense, her warmth, generosity and kindness. She had intuitive understanding of people and always moved through life with grace and style. She was an amazing person! She became the martriarch of her immediate and extended family and most of all her grandchildren. She will be missed. A Celebration of Life for Marcia with family and closest friends will be held at her daughter Kim and Tim's home in Woodcrest, 15700 Terraceview Ct., Riverside, CA on Saturday, 3/14 at 2pm.
