MARGARET HODSON "MARGE" SHANNON Marge passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015 in Wilmington, North Carolina with her family at her side. Margaret was born on February 26, 1928 to Ross and Della Hodson and was the youngest of four children. She attended elementary school in La Habra, California, and was a childhood friend and classmate to Leland Marion "Lee" Shannon who later became her loving husband. Marge had a special love of travel, and when Lee's research in plant biochemistry offered him the opportunity to spend a year-long sabbatical in Nagoya, Japan, they packed up the family and made it an unforgettable around-the-world adventure. Margaret is survived by her five children, Cindi (Jay) Anthony of Dallas TX, Kevin (Susan) Shannon of Ocean Beach, CA, Kathleen (Michael) Glancy, Lolo Shannon, Marleen Shannon Georgiades (Savvas.) all of Wilmington, NC. In addition, Margaret leaves seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lee, her sister Mary Bellomy and brothers Walter Hudson and Capt. Harold Hodson. A private burial service will be held at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Margaret's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Trinity Grove in Wilmington, NC for their loving care over the past two years, and especially to Sharon Powell whose daily kindness enriched life for Margaret and all of her family.
