Margarett Mary Paulin Obituary
MARGARETT MARY PAULIN Margaret Mary Paulin, age 95, a resident of Riverside since 1949, died of natural causes on October 29, 2013. Margarett was born November 4, 1917 in Belvedere, Illinois. She married George Paulin 1936 in Genoa, Illinois. George preceded her in death 2004. They had been married for 68 years. For many years Margarett was an active member of the Girl Scout Council. In 1958 she received a Lifetime Membership Award for her years service with the Jefferson Elementary PTA. Margarett retired in 1982 after 20 years as Secretary for the Guidance Counselors' Office at Poly High School. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Elks Emblem Club Amblyopia Screening Clinics at area elementary schools. Margarett's passion was driving their motor home. She and George made numerous trips across the U.S. and to RV Park gatherings. She loved dogs, especially her poodles, and served for many years as Treasurer of the De Anza Dog Club. Margarett is survived by three daughters: Marjorie Stebbins Bordwell and husband Joseph of Fletcher, VT, Sharon Alves of Grand Terrace, CA, Arleta Quesada and husband Allen of Mill Valley, CA; grandchildren: Suzanne Hurst of Mooers Forks, NY; Nancy and Richard White of Shelburne, VT; Roberta and Kenneth Castonguay of Hinesburg, VT, Eric Stebbins, of Burlington, VT; Peggy and David Reid of San Jose, CA; William(Bud) and Deanna Alves of Riverside, CA; Sharon and Tim Sherer of Riverside, CA; George and Jeannie Alves of Vista, CA; Tina and Sam Holland of Oakland, OR; Susan and David Mertz of Fort Collins, CO; April and Jed Walton of Gridley, CA; 23 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren. A memorial graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 6th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the .
