Marguerite C. Myers Obituary
Marguerite passed away, surrounded by her daughters, on May 23, 2017. Marguerite was born in Dallas, Texas , August 14, 1925. Her parents were Clayton Lee Crenshaw and Catherine Lily (Coombs) Crenshaw. She had one brother, Clayton A. Crenshaw, deceased.
Marguerite spent her younger years in Arkansas, Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. It was in Oklahoma where she met and married the love of her life, Garrett Ray Myers. He preceded her in death in October of 2016.
After their marriage, the couple soon made their home in California. It was here that they raised their four daughters. Later, Marguerite, Ray and two daughters lived in Europe as part of Ray's work. Their long time abroad was fulfilling and interesting. Retirement brought the couple to Hemet about 26 years ago.
As a couple Marguerite and Ray liked playing cards with friends. For most of their married life they enjoyed square dancing everywhere they lived and traveled.
Marguerite spent many years volunteering in local PTA both for her daughters' and later for her grandchildren's schools. Marguerite also spent years working in Woman's Clubs, both in California and Europe. At home Marguerite enjoyed collecting nick-nacks, doing many crafts, sewing, and gardening.
Marguerite was beloved by her daughters, Catherine Pogan, Margo Bender, Cindy Moreau, and Lisa Allen. She had 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Marguerite will be united with her husband, Ray, at Riverside National Cemetery on June 12, 2017.
