Marilyn L. Bresson Obituary
MARILYN L. BRESSON Age 84, passed away January 26, 2013 in Newport Beach. Born September 21, 1928 in Phoenix, Arizona to Emmett and Alma McDowell she resided in Ajo, Arizona where her parents operated a grocery store. At a young age Marilyn moved with her parents and brother Taylor to Blythe, California where her family became involved in ranching. In 1944 Marilyn married Jack Bresson in Salome, Arizona and they resided in Blythe. Within a couple of years they moved to Riverside. Marilyn and Jack remained married for the next 68 years. Marilyn is survived by her husband Jack; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Shirley Bresson; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Sarah Bresson; daughter Jean Garcia; daughter and son-in-law Tom and Jane Burnside, as well as 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. When Marilyn and Jack moved to Riverside in the mid 1940s they farmed oranges and operated sheep camps around the Lake Matthews area and later owned liquor stores and investment properties. A full time mother and home maker, Marilyn remained a full time partner with Jack in all of their business ventures and activities. Residing in Riverside for many years in a home they built themselves, Marilyn and Jack built their lake front dream home in Lake Arrowhead where they enjoyed many days of enjoyment with family and friends. In more recent years Marilyn and Jack moved to their long time family home in Newport Beach. Graveside services will be held at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside on Wednesday, February 6th at 1PM. Please visit www.piercebroscrestlawn.com to offer condolences.
