Marion Bifford Obituary
MARION BIFFORD passed away on March 22, 2014 at age 90. She was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and was a longtime resident of Riverside. Marion was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School and received her BA from Marymount College. Marion led an extraordinarily active and involved life. She worked for the District Council of Painters, and both acted and directed in performances at the Riverside Community Players for decades. She was active in her church, Trinity Lutheran. In partnership with Trinity, she was the primary driver behind establishing the Cooper-Burkhart House, one of the earliest local adult day care programs for the elderly. She is survived by her four children-Jan Bilton, Peter Brosius, Gretchen Brosius and Christian Faber, and by four grandchildren, Cooper and Natalie Faber, Daria and Gabriel Brosius. Marion loved her family, her homes in Newport Beach and Oregon. She loved theater of all kinds. She was a fearless and successful investor in real estate. She was a woman who loved to dance. People remember her talent for friendship and laughter. She believed that a life needs a purpose and a cause, and she brought that belief and a lively spirit to all she did. She was devoted to her mother Pearl Burkhart until Pearl's death just before her 100th birthday. Marion will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions to the Riverside Community Players.
