MARION FRANCIS WILSON Age 92, most recently of Riverside, CA, passed from natural causes on October 23, 2013. Marion was born at Lettermen General Hospital in San Francisco, CA, to MSGT Erwin Smith and Mary Tumelty on June 19, 1921. As a young child, Marion lived with her parents in the Philippines and Panama before returning to the Presidio. Marion graduated from the Star of the Sea Academy in 1939. Marion Smith married the love of her life, James Andrew Wilson, Jr., on April 25, 1942. Lt. James Wilson died in Belgium on January 3, 1945, from wounds suffered during combat. Marion and James Wilson had two children, James Andrew Wilson, III, and Mary Katherine Wilson Wakefield. Marion raised both children in San Francisco. She enjoyed a long career with the California Chamber of Commerce, which included relocation to Sacramento in the 1960s. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her sister (Dorothy White); her husband; her son; her son-in-law (James Wakefield), and her daughter. Marion is affectionately survived by her 3 grandchildren: Mark Wakefield, Doug Wakefield, and Jennifer Doskocil; and her 6 great grandchildren: Maria, James, Joseph, Danica, Jackson, and Katherine.
