Marshall G. Polson Obituary
MARSHALL G. POLSON Age 81, of Hemet, California, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1934 in Norwalk, California to Fred and Opal Polson. He has been a resident of Hemet for 76 years. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Kay Polson; two children, Scott (MaryJo) Polson, and Staci (Kelly) Ferris; five grandchildren, Nikki (Jesse), Shane (Bobbi), Beth (Matt), Steve (Maylia), all of Hemet, and Garrett (Heather) of Santa Ynez, CA; two step-grandchildren, Ryan and Alicia; seven great-grandchildren, Makinlie, Madison, Brooke, Raegan, Mavrik, Jaxson and soon to be entering this world, Karsen, and one niece, Karen (Sprague) Miller of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Polson, his parents, Fred & Opal, his sister, Dee (Polson) Sprague, nephew Fred Sprague, and grand-niece Jodi. After serving our country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959, he worked for 34 years for So.Calif. Edison as a lineman before retirement. He was active as a coach in Little League Baseball and helped found the Hemet All American Football program in the 60's. He was a member of many service clubs in the valley, primarily The Hemet Lions Club, as well as a founding member of the original Hemet Sportsman Club. Marshall loved motorsports, especially Drag Racing, but was also actively involved with the AMA Pro Flat Track racing with his sons in the mid- 70's through 1980. He was an Angels fan and a Raiders follower. His love of his country led him & Kay to explore the U.S. by RV several months at a time for 10 years. Most of all, he loved the family camping trips, and the gatherings that occurred with family & friends at their home. Marshall was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at Community Christian Church in Hemet, CA on Saturday, Feb. 6th at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the , the Temecula, CA. or the Hemet Sportsman's Club.
