Mary Lucille Boostrom Obituary
MARY LUCILLE BOOSTROM Mary entered eternal life surrounded by her family at home in Temecula on Friday, March 8, 2013. Mary was born in Denver, Colorado to parents Lee and Sarah Gonzales. At the age of six, Mary's family moved to San Francisco, California. She was the oldest of 7 children raised there. She graduated from St. Peter's Academy and attended the University of San Francisco before going to work as an airline stewardess (one of the very first bilingual flight attendants) for Western Airlines. She met Ronald Boostrom at a Banjo Bar in San Francisco. They fell in love and were married on January 7, 1961, within 8 months of meeting. They lived initially in Bremerton, WA (Ronald was stationed in the Navy there) and moved to San Francisco shortly thereafter. They had 3 children together, Steven, Deborah, and Victoria. Victoria passed at a very young age. Ronald and Mary raised their children between the Bay Area (younger years) and San Diego, California (High School). In 1994, Mary and Ronald moved together from San Diego to Temecula, California and have been here since. Mary loved her family and her faith. She was a very loving and affectionate mother who would always sing to her children and have a way to calm the atmosphere. She worked as a stewardess, homemaker and a receptionist in her life. She enjoyed her retirement and kept very active. She enjoyed traveling and did so extensively with her husband Ronald. She and Ronald are parishioners at St. Catherine of Alexandria where Mary was a member of the Noon Mass Choir, a Eucharistic Minister, in the St Catherine's Women's Guild, and also the leader of the St. Catherine Rosary Group. Mary was involved in P.E.O Sisterhood, the Newcomers, and the Temecula Valley Women's Guild as well. She liked to read (from History to Mystery), sing, and definitely socialize. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Ronald Lee Boostrom; son Steven and daughter Deborah; and 6 siblings; Louis, Patricia, Robert, Marcus, Elena and Christopher. Mary's family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 3-7PM on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA. Catholic Vigil and Rosary will begin at 6PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Rite will be the following morning, Monday, March 18, 2013, 10AM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 41875 C Street, Temecula, CA 92592.
