MAUREEN ANN MOULTON FINAN Born on May 21, 1928 in Glendale, California, Maureen Ann Moulton Finan, daughter of Avis Gertrude Maloney and Clyde Moulton, died on May 20th, 2016, the day before her 88th birthday. Raised in Quincy, Massachusetts until the age of five, she did not return to California until 1969. She graduated from Boston University in 1950 and married Thomas Matthew Finan that summer, moving to a small Massachusetts town, Barre. Maureen and Tom had four children. As they entered elementary school, Maureen studied and received her Master's in Education from Worcester State Teacher's College and began teaching at Hubbardston Elementary School. She traveled to California on vacation and decided to apply for work. She was immediately hired by Riverside Unified School District and worked at Highgrove and Mountain View Elementary schools as a primary school teacher. She loved to teach. She enjoyed travel and traveled the globe from Europe to Korea and China, Australia, Guatemala, Hawaii and Turkey. She loved refinishing antiques, needlepoint, gardening, mystery novels, Christmas time and gatherings with family and friends. Maureen Finan will be missed by her four children: Ellen Finan of Desert Hot Springs; Ann Finan of Carlsbad, Mary Elizabeth Finan of Bridgeport, Conn., and Thomas Matthew Finan of Hemet. In addition, Maureen had a special place in her heart for her only grandson, Garrett Finan. She will be interred in San Jacinto Cemetery District on Friday, May 26th at 1 pm with a gravesite service as well as a morning remembrance mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Soboba St. in Hemet at 8:15 am on Friday. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations to Ronald McDonald House Loma Linda, CA.
