Melvina Eleanor White Partridge Obituary
MELVINA ELEANOR WHITE PARTRIDGE was reunited with her beloved husband, Wallace J. Partridge in heaven in the presence of their Lord and Savior on June 28th, 2015 at the age of 96. She was born on August 16, 1918 in Fillmore, Indiana. Her parents brought her to Riverside in 1936 where they stayed in her grandparent's farmhouse on the corner of Iowa and Spruce that she and her husband would later live in for 51 years. While her children were young, Melvina was involved in their activities; school PTA president, 4-H, Band, FFA and Job's Daughters. She met her husband at the Union Church in Riverside, and was an active member of that church through its growth to The Grove Community Church. Melvina and Wally farmed their land and had orange groves, fruit trees, vegetable gardens and even at one time a Christmas tree farm named "Partridge in a Pine Tree Christmas Tree Farm." Melvina and Wally were married 73 years until his death on June 10, 2014. Melvina was known by her baking, canned fruits and jams, quilting, knitting, and sewing. She had a love of playing the piano, watching sports and even attended Bible studies into her 90's. Her greatest joy was her family, 4 children: Wally of Oakdale, CA, Jim of Malcolm, NE, Mary (McInteer) of Riverside, CA, Patty (Bender) of Fallbrook, CA and their spouses; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 6 great, great grandchildren. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be in our hearts forever. A celebration of her life will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on July 15th at 2:00pm.
