NANCY ANN KABEL was born in Buffalo, New York on November 18, 1932 and passed away on the Fourth of July, 2015. She is survived by her daughter Mary and sons Jim, Mark, and Jeff. She leaves behind three beloved granddaughters: Rachel, Elyse, and Katey and six treasured grandsons: Daniel, Matthew, Benjamin, Jack, John and Nick. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her son John. Mrs. Kabel graduated in 1950 from Visitation High School in Detroit, Michigan before attending the University of Oklahoma in Norman. After earning her bachelor's degree, she received her teaching credential at New York State College for Teachers in Buffalo, New York. On a family visit to California she met her future husband, John Patrick Kabel, and they married in December of 1955. The couple first began their life together in San Diego County. Nancy and Jack later relocated to Riverside County where they raised their family and lived together for nearly 60 years. While raising five children, Nancy was active in the Catholic Church, and worked as a substitute and full time teacher at public and private elementary schools in the Riverside area. She especially enjoyed teaching 3rd grade. Nancy took pride in raising her children and making a happy home for her family. She fashioned special memories in attending to the details of these unsung vocations from her special recipe creations to her guidance with art projects. In her lifetime, Mrs. Kabel enjoyed family vacations, following politics, doing The Daily Jumble puzzles, and attending social events with close friends, She was also a lifelong sports fan, especially of baseball. Private family services will be held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Riverside Life Services.
