NANCY JANE (BUTTERFIELD) STOREIM Age 78, long-time resident of Riverside California, died at home on March 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Harold Kenneth (Ken) Storeim; daughter, Connie (Glancy) Shorr & husband Stephen; son Steven Storeim & wife Tami; daughter, Cheryl Quiroz & husband Donald; grandchildren, Joshua Storeim & wife Debbie; Justin Glancy; Nikki & Lindsay Storeim, Derek & Emily Quiroz; brother Dennis Butterfield & wife Sandra. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Garett & Dylan Glancy. She was born December 28, 1935 in Beecher, Wisconsin. She attended El Dorado County High School in Placerville, Ca. where she was head cheerleader and salutatorian for her graduating class of 1953. She met Ken Storeim in Riverside in 1953 and they married on July 11, 1954. They have been very involved in the church and community, as scout leaders, softball coaches, enjoying bible study and square dance club. At the age of 40 she earned her nursing degree (RN) at Riverside Community College and worked in critical care at Riverside Community hospital, served as RN at Riverside Eye Clinic and with Visiting Nurses Association. Dedicated to science, she bequeathed her body to Loma Linda University School of Medicine for scientific use after death. She was an inspiration to her family, friends and co-workers. She loved and was loved. She will be missed but will be in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 20th at 2pm at Magnolia Church, 8351 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, Ca. Reception follows. In lieu of flowers, consider contributing in her name to Visiting Nurses Association.
