Nancy Terese Scrima Obituary
NANCY TERESE SCRIMA, 54--the lifelong smile inducer, joy spreader, peacemaker, straight shooter, empathizer, prayer warrior, mother, extraordinary cake decorator, and friend--died on Monday, September 8th, 2014 of ovarian cancer. Nancy was born in Chicago to Thomas and Katherine Daly on December 29th, 1959, the second of six children. She, along with her parents and her siblings, John, Tom, Vince, Kelly and Tim, relocated to Southern California in the early '70's, where she put down lifelong roots, and remained until her death. People who knew Nancy well would remember how easily she laughed, and how easily she made others laugh--especially her four children, Nicole, Kelly, Aaron and Andy. Her home in Winchester with her husband of twenty-one years, Craig, became the central gathering place for countless holidays and family get-togethers, and Nancy remained both the relational glue and the life of the party in every one. She had a "can do" attitude, choosing to view obstacles as opportunities, and her fun-loving spirit lifted her and those around her even on some of her darkest days. Her deep and personal faith in Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life; she loved recklessly, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and heartfelt concern in her wake, wherever she went. From the high school students who visited her line in the cafeteria where she served as a lunch lady, to the family and friends who knew her best, there was hardly a person that Nancy didn't disarm with her infectious grin and her mischievous antics. She is survived by her father, Tom Daly; her five siblings, John, Tom, Vince, Kelly Daly-Yee, and Tim; her loving husband, Craig Scrima; her four children, Nicole Daly, Kelly Noon, Aaron Daly, and Andrew Scrima; her two step-sons, Andrew and Peter Scrima; her eleven grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she touched and enlarged by her love. To celebrate Nancy's life and share in the joy of her memory, join her friends and family members for a memorial service in her honor at 11am on Saturday, September 20th at Calvary Chapel Lake Elsinore: 107 N. Riley St., Lake Elsinore, CA 92530. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Nancy be directed to the Gilda Radner Program at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai.
