Nena Flores Obituary
NENA FLORES, 73, of Highland, CA, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in San Bernardino, CA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edna. She is survived by her husband, Expedito (Eddie) of Highland; son, Edward and his wife, Algeneve of Highland; granddaughters, Jillian and Emily, of Highland; sister, Helen of Manila, Philippines; brother, Chito of San Bernardino; brother, Jojo of Highland; and sister Dolores of Fairbanks, Alaska. Nena graduated from University of the Philippines Diliman in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. She took the Pharmacy board in 1963 and had the 5th highest score. In 1969, she immigrated to the United States. In 1969, she started working for California Portland Cement Company. She worked there for 34 years as a Research Chemist until her retirement in 2004. While there, she met her future husband Eddie, who started working at the cement plant a few months earlier. In 1971, Nena and Eddie got married. In 1973, Nena gave birth to her 1st child, daughter, Edna. In 1976, Nena gave birth to a son, Edward. In 2008, Nena became a grandparent as her granddaughter, Jillian, was born. In 2014, Nena had a second granddaughter, Emily. Viewing will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Rosary at 6 p.m.), Sunday, April, 26, 2015 at Mt. View Mortuary and Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Adelaide Church, 27457 Baseline, Highland, CA. Interment will follow the funeral mass at Mt. View Cemetery, San Bernardino CA.
