NOEMA ANN CALLAHAN O'HAIR 1925 - 2014 Passed away peacefully at age 88 in Reno, Nevada, Sunday July 13, 2014, surrounded by family. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and many friends. Noema was born July 29th, 1925 in Brayton, Nebraska (Greeley County), the youngest of 9 children from Bernard Callahan and Ellen Barbara Bopp. She graduated from Saint Mary High School in Omaha, then worked in Omaha, Colorado, and Arizona. Noema met and married Paul Albert O'Hair in Arizona in 1947 and they moved to California. Paul and Noema first lived in Manhattan Beach for 7 years, then moved to Beaumont to raise their family of 4 boys. While still managing the home front and herding her boys, she obtained her A.A. degree from Mount San Jacinto Junior College. She always valued education and encouraged all her children and grandchildren to do their best. Noema was also employed as an EKG technician and office secretary at Dr. Fischbach's office in Banning, California for many years. They lived in Santa Rosa for a short time before eventually retiring in Cherry Valley. For the last year and a half she lived in Reno, Nevada, in order to be closer to more of her family.Noema was devoted to her Roman Catholic faith and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. It is the opinion of her 4 sons that if anyone deserves to be a Saint, it is Mom, she was the best. Noema was preceded in death by her husband Paul, and all of her 8 siblings: Mary, Charles, Ethel, Claire, Esther, Rita, Frank, and Leo. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law: Patrick and Nancy of Reno, Nevada; Michael and Gloria of Cherry Valley, California; Kelly and Michele of Livermore, California; and Kevin and Mary of Sparks, Nevada. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sean, Gregory (and wife Alyssa), Shannon (and husband Chad), Brenna, Ryan, and Allison, and her 4 great grandchildren: Malcolm, Hannah, Maya, and Sydney, plus dozens of relatives that she loved dearly. There will be a Memorial Mass to honor Noema at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Beaumont, California on Saturday, July 26 at 11:00AM followed by a reception.
