Norman Townsend Davies Obituary
NORMAN TOWNSEND DAVIES Age 79, passed on February 26, 2015 in Cottonwood, Arizona with his loving wife Glenna by his side. Born in Concordia, Kansas on February 19, 1936 to Gwilym L. Davies and L. Pauline Townsend, Norm grew up in Beaumont and was an alumna of Beaumont High School. He served in the US Navy as a Radarman, and later graduated from Cal State University LA with a degree in psychology. He moved to Riverside with his first wife, Judy, in 1966, where they owned Davies Consultants & Employment Agency for 13 years, and raised two daughters. At age 35, Norm acquired his private pilot's license and enjoyed buzzing around the Riverside skies with his family and friends. He was also a lover of British sports cars, especially Jaguars, and owned three successful businesses in Riverside: Davies and Terry Automotive, the British Motor Cars dealership, and British Motor Sports. Norm moved to Sedona, Arizona in the mid 1990's where he met his soul mate, Glenna Lyons, and embarked on his grand adventure of exploration, spirituality, and human connection. Norm was a certified acupuncturist and massage therapist, and he and Glenna frequently traveled between their homes in Cottonwood and Blandinsville, IL, making many cherished friends along the way. Norm was a loving and devoted father and husband, and his charming sense of humor never failed to bring smiles to friends and strangers alike. He was very loved and will be greatly missed. Norm was preceded by his sister Louise Carnes, and is survived by his sisters Velda Summers, Marguerite Dickson; his daughters Lisa Siderman, Stacy Davies; his step-daughters Michelle Delathower, Chris Sanchez, Jackie Watson, Becky Horne; many nieces and nephews; and nine grandchildren. Norm will be honored privately by family members.
