1920 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
Ollie entered into Heaven on March 27, 2017. She was born on October 16, 1920 to Bill and Ethel Berdine in Phillipsburg County, KS. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Strong, on June 1, 1940. They shared 61 years together.
She taught 30 years as an elementary school teacher for the San Bernardino City Unified School District. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the Women's Club of San Bernardino and the California Teachers Association. In her retirement years, she volunteered for the St. Bernardine's Hospital Auxiliary. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling all over the world.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Francis Berdine; as well as her husband, Ray. Survivors include her two sons, Darrell and Denney (Nancy) Strong; 2 granddaughters, Kimberly (Mark) Atmore and Joanna (Rick) Branson; 3 great-grandchildren, Nick and Sam Atmore and Kimberly Branson.
Ollie lived in San Bernardino since 1947 and she loved this city and her many friends here. Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA.
