O.M. "Red" Taylor Obituary
O.M. 'RED' TAYLOR Red Taylor, 97, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2016 in Riverside, CA. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Genevieve. He was the first born and last surviving of 9 siblings. Red was born in Barnett, Missouri on Dec. 17, 1918 and graduated at Pleasant Grove in Seminole, Oklahoma. Red and Genevieve moved to Corona, Ca in 1937. Red served with pride in the Army and was discharged in Dec 1945. Red is survived by his 3 children, Charles Taylor of Riverside, Charlotte Bradbury (Jim) of Nuevo, Sharon Huntley (Jim) of Riverside and 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Red and Genevieve lived in Norco for 36 years during which he helped incorporate the city and served on the City Council and as Mayor in 1968/1969. They both were very active in the community for many years before moving to Riverside to grow avocados and oranges at their ranch on Mockingbird Cyn Rd. The last 7 years Red spent in Nuevo to be near all the grandkids. Red loved his family, the City of Norco, piloting his plane, traveling across the country in his motorhome and off-roading in Blythe. The family will receive relatives and friends Aug. 5, 2016 at Miller-Jones Chapel of Perris - 1835 N. Perris Blvd Perris, CA 92571. Viewing at 10:30 am and service at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at 1:30 at the Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Riverside, Ca.
